Summary:

Personal Opinion:
Let me start with the characters first. Tachibana is very out going and
flirtatious guy, and that became the reason why Shinya is so jealous. Shinya is
the complete opposite. He only shows his playful side to Tachibana. He can be a
little kid sometimes (which he admits himself and it is one of the things why
Tachibana loves hims so much). When you put these two together, the pieces fit
perfectly. I like the chemistry when they're playing around with each other. It
was more natural and boyish than the embrace which looked more choreographed and
a bit fake. I was laughing at a one point because the expressions were very odd.
But I think the director was definitely heading for a more tender and sweet
moment which can be felt throughout the whole film (especially those quick
plucker on the lips, I thought that was very playful and cute). The sequence of
the film was nicely timed, it didn't drag out and it held the story together
pretty well. Compare to the other BL movies, this one was lighter and fluffier,
but it's still worth checking out. (I have never seen such a cute couple before!
They're just too lovable!)
On the side note, I wish they would show what happened to Sho-kun. (I got to
check out the manga for that).
After reading the manga, I thought the story was told more clearly in the manga.
The smaller size apartment brought out the closeness that was kinda missing in
the film. The characters obviously had more physical connections in the manga.
Which is kinda disappointing when you're watching the film because it doesn't
happen. So I would definetely recommend you to read the manga when you finish
with the movie. It gives you different perspectives and it sums up the plots.

Personal Opinion:
I think I have watched enough BL films to say that this is by far one of the
best EVER! If you had watched Brokeback, then you can't help but compare the
two. The result? Bangkok Love Story is the winner (lols).
The film had incorporated many other elements that made it stronger, but at the
same time, weakened it, just by a little. It touched on the subject of Aids and
as an audience, we see the horrible conditions these people have to face such as
discrimination and poverty. Fog often gets beat and lives a miserable life with
his mother. He is just like the fighting fishes he keeps in a jar, fighting to
survive. I liked the fact that the story included this because it's a very
serious issue. But at the same time, it acts as a dark cloud over the film with
its melancholy.
Now, on to the lovers. Cloud is your complex character that still have leftover
trauma from when he was young. I think that's why he always tries to clean
himself and push Stone away. Stone is strong, passionate, loyal, and lovable. *I
wouldn't mind having him clean and take care of me in his white underwear.* The
rooftop hide out b/c their sanctuary. I find it a bit paradoxical because
they're surrounded by buildings where people can easily spot them, so it's a
place where they can be free in the eyes of society. At first Cloud is cold to
Stone, but he is touched by Stone's determination and care. But he pushed Stone
away after their embrace. From that point on, the movie starts to move VERY
slowly. But I think it played a great affect on the audience because we feel as
frustrated as Stone while he try to win Cloud back. One of my favorite part was
when Stone yelled out his confession on the roof top while Cloud was in hiding,
crying as he heard every last word. This run and catch thing go on for quiet a
while and it displaces the two characters, making it seem like the relationship
is only one sided. I didn't get a feel of a strong bond from them and I think
this was one of the down falls from the other elements. To counter this, the
director gave the audience two very acute and passionate kiss that leaves you
mouth dropped with an unstoppable nosebleed and a craving for more. The scenes
were VERY well done, realistic and natural. The whole cinema photography was
breathtaking and beautiful.
Final Thought:
Bangkok Love Story defines love. This movie leaves you wanting to see it again
and again because what Cloud and Stone shared was so pure and real. It's a love
that surpasses death and time. It just shows you that you don't need a reason to
love. When you love someone, you are free from all the restrains. That's why
their kiss scenes were so open where anyone can see them; nothing matters but
the one in your arms. True love is to love unconditionally, to risk your life,
to do everything you can to fight for love, and ( your definition ) .
I thought the ending was just perfect because it had a nice closure, though some
might argue with me on this. But I will let you decide.
I absolutely love the actor who played Cloud. The one who played Stone look very
playboy-ish (lol). Though his voice in the film was more girlie then I would
have imaged.
Once you finished the film, check out the wiki page because it has some trivia
things that's pretty interesting. but DO NOT go there before because it will
spoil everything!

personal opinion: I like the
realism of this movie. It's not your typical yaoi story. It's a more in depth
look into the character's emotions and struggles when it comes to love. I feel
very sympathetic for Mamiya in the beginning because he got molested, so in the
after math, as an audience, you get to see his frustration, anger, and pain.
Noeru is a very complex character. He is sensual and open when he wants to lure
you into his bed chamber. But he doesn't let you get into his heart. Yet, Mamiya
is able to transform him with a promise that held their bond together. The scene
that left a VERY big impression on me was the part with the rape. It can be hard
to watch at times because it was very realistic. But it's a dark side that's not
shown on tv or many yaoi stories. It's a great story about the truth of love;
it's full of pain, jealousy, madness, happiness, hope, promises, etc.
There is a Boys Love theater version (or what I consider Boys Love 2) out
already. But no subs yet, so when it do come out, I'll let you guys
know.

personal opinion: A lot of
jealousy and battling in this one. lols. Masaki's brother complex for her
brother, Tomokazu startled me a bit in the beginning because she IS SERIOUS!
Yoshiku is their neighbor who is a very close friend with Tomokazu. He would
always and only take Tomo's pictures. It's very obvious that the two like Tomo.
But I guess Tomokazu is either too dense or he only have boxing on his mind
because he doesn't realize their feelings at all. The story is cute and sweet.
It makes you smile at the end. You really get to see the tough side of Takumi
Saito.

personal opinion: I LOVE this
one. I had A LOT of laughs while watching it. The story is VERY unpredictable
and original. I love Takumi Saitoh's performance in this one because he plays
two very different roles. I like the way how the stories builds up to the
climax, it was very well done. It's a very psychological story that leaves you
wondering at the end. Did Hayasa fall in love with Noboru or Ryu? I was kinda
hoping for a threesome (los), but all I got was a smooch (T.T). But that's just
the little things in the movie because you will get drown into the story and the
characters development. A MUST WATCH. The best of the three.
Final
Thought
I didn't know who Takumi Saitoh was until I saw these films. I like the fact
that he targeted different roles in each of the movies. He can be such a cutie
sometimes with his smile. But man, can he be hot, especially in Boys Love (the
scene where he made a greek half shoulder grown out of bed sheets made my mouth
drop to the floor, lols.) Yoshikazu Kotani is just such a geek, lols, he is too
adorable, it makes me want to attack him as well. lols. Out of the three, the
one that left the most deep impression have to be Boys Love because it's a hit
of reality. At the same time, through the whole movie, they incorporated lot of
beautiful love quotes. It's definitely a very serous film about love. In
contrast, Itsuka-no-kimi-e has A LOT of humor. There are a lot of sweet and
heart warming scenes that makes you laugh out loud. But at the same time, it has
a deep plot that gets unraveled as it reaches the climax. Finally Sukitomo is a
much more based on friendship and sibling relationships. I like the subjects it
targets. 3 completely different films with 1 thing in comment, love. I enjoyed
them a lot, so please give them a try.

Some of you might know, the hosting problem has surface again. I should have
been more attentive to the host. I want to apologize again.
Here are some resolution that I have in mind:
1) Photobucket - the only problem i have
with this one is that they only allow files less than 1mb. So here is the Q: do
you guys mind if some of the scans are less in size/quality? (I usually edit the
scans to 1200px in width. Color scan are very hard to limit it down to 1mb
unless I resize it.) So if you guys are ok with that, than I'll use photobucket
from now on.
2) one big zip file - it will have all
the novel scans in a zip file, uploaded on many host site.
3) gallery - I tried it during the
anniversary, it didn't get many visits.
4) other host site - I tried looking
around, imagebam is still the best one aside from imageshake and photobucket. So
if you know some good image host sites, please tell me.
As the things are right now, I am heading toward 1 & 2. I can upload the
pics indiviually on photobucket and do the zip files as well (which will have
original size scans).

Wei Liu's style reminded me of Duo Brand a lot. Like Duo Brand, it's also a two
people artist.
I was SO wrong before about how the artbook. When it's in front of you, the
black & white pics loook much more beautiful because of its details. So if
you do get a chance to buy, do get it.
I don't think the artbook is that expensive, i think the amount is in taiwanese
dollars. So $500 will be like 50 chinese dollars, so that will be like around 7
to 8 bucks USD. But it's sold out, so i think the only way to get it is through
auctions, so they might go a bit higher in price. My aunt just ordered mine
yesterday. I hope it will arrive in time for my dad to bring back.
I think her artwork look better now. So I hope the 2nd artbook will exceed the
first.
I just realized that she's deland-fox on DA. I hope the 2nd artbook will have
more color scans than the 1st one. I downloaded the artbook on emule (just
digital photo pics of the whole book). About 2/3 of the book were black and
white images. So i was a bit disappointed at that.
OMG! I am trying to get this artbook as well. I am hoping my aunt can pull this
one off for me. (and it's not even first print, the one i am trying to get is
2nd print) I am preying that no one will get to the buy button before my aunt
does..
The artbook is extremely heavy and thick. it's almost like trinity blood's

Oh, I never knew she's going to have an other artbook out, that sounds

I just heard this news today on LJ. It was so unexpected and extremely tragic.
She's one of the most well know yaoi mangakas. Some of her famous work were:
Denkou Sekka Boys, Love Prism, X Kai, and so much more.

Aside from a good plot and art work, humor also counts as a big part of a good
manga. Hashida sensei sure dissapoint the reader with her sense of humor. One of
her style would be to have 3 panels that's extactly alike/similar but with
different text. It just bring out a different kind of humor to the manga and
that's what makes her work special not to mention her drawing style. The way she
draws the eyes and eye lashes of her uke is very distinctive and beautiful. You
really can't take your eyes off it sometimes. (lols) Oh and I almost forgot,
this mangaka draw the BEST kiss scenes
EVER! They're hot, mouth drolling(literally), nosebleeding, and just
AWESOME!

After Sakuragi Yaya, I have to put Mishima sensei in the spotlight. School
romance is one of her specialties also. What I love about her art style is their
expression, especially the "evil grin" It is the most evil and cutest
thing ever! (lols). Oh, and it's not every day you see a seme with light colored
hair. Aside from that, most of her story are focused on how the seme goes
through many obstacles in order to get to his most prize possession, the uke!
Even though this theme repeats itself, all her manga is filled with humor that
you just couldn't get enough of. So if you're new to the yaoi world, don't miss

If you haven't read it, this is a MUST READ! I finally gave it a try after a
long time because the art work is not my taste at all. But man! Did I miss out
on so much. The story just below my mind! It was very interesting. Once you
started, you won't want to stop until the last page! I haven't read anything
this good in so long. It's very hard to put this one in words. Not much yaoi
until the 2nd vol. It's very deep, angst and psychological. It also has a lot of
humor. Not your typical seme and ukes. This time, the uke is one crazy yakuza
with a dragon tattoo on his back and some scars. While the seme plays the piano
and bakes cakes. Very interesting, isn't it?

The first thing that really caught my eye about Sakuragi sensei's style was the
character's expression, especially her signature grin/smirk. I just can't get
enough of them. In addition, her style is very distinctive so I doubt you will
find something similar to her's. Aside from the art work, her stories are really
good, especially her series. All of her works contains a good amt of humor and
plot to make them work. If you're a fan of school romance, then you must check
her out. They'll definitely leave a deep impression on you. Finally, one thing
which I found very interesting is that sometimes she likes to put a little hint
of yuri in her manga. However, it's very unnoticeable, but very cute because the
female character's personality is very seme like yet, girlie.

The art work wasn't really my taste. But after I got into the story, I've come
to like this mangaka. One thing that I like about her style is that her
expressions are very realistic. The humor is just right. It was fun to see the
up and downs of this relationship. Nice pace and development. Please try it. You
won't be disappointed by it.

I have a weakness for a guy with a nice Smile/Grins/Smirks. Somehow, I have a
thing for voice also. Love deep, smooth voices that can makes your knees go
weak.
What caught my eyes about her work was the sexiness of her semes and their grins
and smirks. The way her uke blushes is really cute also. Her art work is simple
yet, there's something striking about them and you'll definitely be lured in by
it. From what I have seen, her stories varies. Some of them are deep and moving
while others are just fun to read. I just found out that she did a LOT of novel
illustration, 20 of them to be exact. I haven't read a lot of her stuff due to
lack of scanlation. But I am very tempted about buying Nemureru Mori and Allure
which was licensed by DramaQueen since I heard so many good reviews about them.

I was going to recommend Romantist Egoist by the same mangaka, but backed out in
the last minutes. LSD is more meaningful in a way because it actually has a
plot? It's very hard to say since of lack of progress in the scanlation. But I
think it's still worth a read. I like her style because it's a bit different
from what you usually see. And the cover just got me drolling all over it. lols.
The sex scene are a bit more explicit in my opinion because of it's roughness.
But if you want to see more crazy sex maneuvers, then, please check out
Romantist Egoist. I am sure that one will blow your mind b/c 90% of that book is
about sex, literally.

Final Thought:
Bangkok Love Story defines love. This movie leaves you wanting to see it again and again because what Cloud and Stone shared was so pure and real. It's a love that surpasses death and time. It just shows you that you don't need a reason to love. When you love someone, you are free from all the restrains. That's why their kiss scenes were so open where anyone can see them; nothing matters but the one in your arms. True love is to love unconditionally, to risk your life, to do everything you can to fight for love, and ( your definition ) .
I thought the ending was just perfect because it had a nice closure, though some might argue with me on this. But I will let you decide.
I absolutely love the actor who played Cloud. The one who played Stone look very playboy-ish (lol). Though his voice in the film was more girlie then I would have imaged.
Once you finished the film, check out the wiki page because it has some trivia things that's pretty interesting. but DO NOT go there before because it will spoil everything!

personal opinion: I like the realism of this movie. It's not your typical yaoi story. It's a more in depth look into the character's emotions and struggles when it comes to love. I feel very sympathetic for Mamiya in the beginning because he got molested, so in the after math, as an audience, you get to see his frustration, anger, and pain. Noeru is a very complex character. He is sensual and open when he wants to lure you into his bed chamber. But he doesn't let you get into his heart. Yet, Mamiya is able to transform him with a promise that held their bond together. The scene that left a VERY big impression on me was the part with the rape. It can be hard to watch at times because it was very realistic. But it's a dark side that's not shown on tv or many yaoi stories. It's a great story about the truth of love; it's full of pain, jealousy, madness, happiness, hope, promises, etc.
There is a Boys Love theater version (or what I consider Boys Love 2) out already. But no subs yet, so when it do come out, I'll let you guys know.

personal opinion: A lot of jealousy and battling in this one. lols. Masaki's brother complex for her brother, Tomokazu startled me a bit in the beginning because she IS SERIOUS! Yoshiku is their neighbor who is a very close friend with Tomokazu. He would always and only take Tomo's pictures. It's very obvious that the two like Tomo. But I guess Tomokazu is either too dense or he only have boxing on his mind because he doesn't realize their feelings at all. The story is cute and sweet. It makes you smile at the end. You really get to see the tough side of Takumi Saito.

personal opinion: I LOVE this one. I had A LOT of laughs while watching it. The story is VERY unpredictable and original. I love Takumi Saitoh's performance in this one because he plays two very different roles. I like the way how the stories builds up to the climax, it was very well done. It's a very psychological story that leaves you wondering at the end. Did Hayasa fall in love with Noboru or Ryu? I was kinda hoping for a threesome (los), but all I got was a smooch (T.T). But that's just the little things in the movie because you will get drown into the story and the characters development. A MUST WATCH. The best of the three.
Final Thought
I didn't know who Takumi Saitoh was until I saw these films. I like the fact that he targeted different roles in each of the movies. He can be such a cutie sometimes with his smile. But man, can he be hot, especially in Boys Love (the scene where he made a greek half shoulder grown out of bed sheets made my mouth drop to the floor, lols.) Yoshikazu Kotani is just such a geek, lols, he is too adorable, it makes me want to attack him as well. lols. Out of the three, the one that left the most deep impression have to be Boys Love because it's a hit of reality. At the same time, through the whole movie, they incorporated lot of beautiful love quotes. It's definitely a very serous film about love. In contrast, Itsuka-no-kimi-e has A LOT of humor. There are a lot of sweet and heart warming scenes that makes you laugh out loud. But at the same time, it has a deep plot that gets unraveled as it reaches the climax. Finally Sukitomo is a much more based on friendship and sibling relationships. I like the subjects it targets. 3 completely different films with 1 thing in comment, love. I enjoyed them a lot, so please give them a try.

Some of you might know, the hosting problem has surface again. I should have been more attentive to the host. I want to apologize again.
Here are some resolution that I have in mind:
1) Photobucket - the only problem i have with this one is that they only allow files less than 1mb. So here is the Q: do you guys mind if some of the scans are less in size/quality? (I usually edit the scans to 1200px in width. Color scan are very hard to limit it down to 1mb unless I resize it.) So if you guys are ok with that, than I'll use photobucket from now on.
2) one big zip file - it will have all the novel scans in a zip file, uploaded on many host site.
3) gallery - I tried it during the anniversary, it didn't get many visits.
4) other host site - I tried looking around, imagebam is still the best one aside from imageshake and photobucket. So if you know some good image host sites, please tell me.
As the things are right now, I am heading toward 1 & 2. I can upload the pics indiviually on photobucket and do the zip files as well (which will have original size scans).

Wei Liu's style reminded me of Duo Brand a lot. Like Duo Brand, it's also a two people artist.
I was SO wrong before about how the artbook. When it's in front of you, the black & white pics loook much more beautiful because of its details. So if you do get a chance to buy, do get it.

and apparently, I went over a list of chinese artist blogs and found 2 that has the same style as her.
I don't think the artbook is that expensive, i think the amount is in taiwanese dollars. So $500 will be like 50 chinese dollars, so that will be like around 7 to 8 bucks USD. But it's sold out, so i think the only way to get it is through auctions, so they might go a bit higher in price. My aunt just ordered mine yesterday. I hope it will arrive in time for my dad to bring back.
I think her artwork look better now. So I hope the 2nd artbook will exceed the first.
I just realized that she's deland-fox on DA. I hope the 2nd artbook will have more color scans than the 1st one. I downloaded the artbook on emule (just digital photo pics of the whole book). About 2/3 of the book were black and white images. So i was a bit disappointed at that.
OMG! I am trying to get this artbook as well. I am hoping my aunt can pull this one off for me. (and it's not even first print, the one i am trying to get is 2nd print) I am preying that no one will get to the buy button before my aunt does..
The artbook is extremely heavy and thick. it's almost like trinity blood's artbook.

Oh, I never knew she's going to have an other artbook out, that sounds interesting. where did you heard it from?
I just heard this news today on LJ. It was so unexpected and extremely tragic. She's one of the most well know yaoi mangakas. Some of her famous work were: Denkou Sekka Boys, Love Prism, X Kai, and so much more.
From what I heard, it seem like she died due to some illness. "According to what I've heard, Asami Tohjo sensei has gotten into car accident long ago, and she wasn't well ever since." - glasscherry@LJ
This is very unfortunates and sad because she's still young and had produced so many great yaoi mangas. I am still in shock because it seem like she was still with us just yesterday.

Aside from a good plot and art work, humor also counts as a big part of a good manga. Hashida sensei sure dissapoint the reader with her sense of humor. One of her style would be to have 3 panels that's extactly alike/similar but with different text. It just bring out a different kind of humor to the manga and that's what makes her work special not to mention her drawing style. The way she draws the eyes and eye lashes of her uke is very distinctive and beautiful. You really can't take your eyes off it sometimes. (lols) Oh and I almost forgot, this mangaka draw the BEST kiss scenes EVER! They're hot, mouth drolling(literally), nosebleeding, and just AWESOME!

* Waru - without a doubt my favorite manga and couple. Totally RECOMMENDED! if you haven't read it. It's really good.
* Jinsei wa Barairo Da - oh, what can I say, I would kiss Kazu even if I have to pay. (lols)

After Sakuragi Yaya, I have to put Mishima sensei in the spotlight. School romance is one of her specialties also. What I love about her art style is their expression, especially the "evil grin" It is the most evil and cutest thing ever! (lols). Oh, and it's not every day you see a seme with light colored hair. Aside from that, most of her story are focused on how the seme goes through many obstacles in order to get to his most prize possession, the uke! Even though this theme repeats itself, all her manga is filled with humor that you just couldn't get enough of. So if you're new to the yaoi world, don't miss this amazing mangaka.

If you haven't read it, this is a MUST READ! I finally gave it a try after a long time because the art work is not my taste at all. But man! Did I miss out on so much. The story just below my mind! It was very interesting. Once you started, you won't want to stop until the last page! I haven't read anything this good in so long. It's very hard to put this one in words. Not much yaoi until the 2nd vol. It's very deep, angst and psychological. It also has a lot of humor. Not your typical seme and ukes. This time, the uke is one crazy yakuza with a dragon tattoo on his back and some scars. While the seme plays the piano and bakes cakes. Very interesting, isn't it?

The first thing that really caught my eye about Sakuragi sensei's style was the character's expression, especially her signature grin/smirk. I just can't get enough of them. In addition, her style is very distinctive so I doubt you will find something similar to her's. Aside from the art work, her stories are really good, especially her series. All of her works contains a good amt of humor and plot to make them work. If you're a fan of school romance, then you must check her out. They'll definitely leave a deep impression on you. Finally, one thing which I found very interesting is that sometimes she likes to put a little hint of yuri in her manga. However, it's very unnoticeable, but very cute because the female character's personality is very seme like yet, girlie.

* Renai Kyoutei Nukegake Nashi! - the first one I read by Sakuragi sensei. Very funny. It has the most hottest and cutest scenes and looks ever! The seme is just to die for.

What caught my eyes about her work was the sexiness of her semes and their grins and smirks. The way her uke blushes is really cute also. Her art work is simple yet, there's something striking about them and you'll definitely be lured in by it. From what I have seen, her stories varies. Some of them are deep and moving while others are just fun to read. I just found out that she did a LOT of novel illustration, 20 of them to be exact. I haven't read a lot of her stuff due to lack of scanlation. But I am very tempted about buying Nemureru Mori and Allure which was licensed by DramaQueen since I heard so many good reviews about them.

I was going to recommend Romantist Egoist by the same mangaka, but backed out in the last minutes. LSD is more meaningful in a way because it actually has a plot? It's very hard to say since of lack of progress in the scanlation. But I think it's still worth a read. I like her style because it's a bit different from what you usually see. And the cover just got me drolling all over it. lols. The sex scene are a bit more explicit in my opinion because of it's roughness. But if you want to see more crazy sex maneuvers, then, please check out Romantist Egoist. I am sure that one will blow your mind b/c 90% of that book is about sex, literally.
